The University has announced that the International Center for Humane Psychiatry under the leadership of Dr. Dan L. Edmunds, Ed.D., has been recognized as a Research Center of the University. Dr. Edmunds is well-known as a prolific commentator on issues of mental health and its treatment. He is an existential-humanist psychotherapist, social activist, and author. Dr. Edmunds's work is devoted to drug free, relational approaches to autism/developmental differences and those undergoing extreme states of mind (schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar).
The Center has launched a new sixteen-week distance learning certificate program in Critical Psychology that examines a number of key issues central to Dr. Edmunds' work.
